The Buildcore search feature is a powerful tool that matches your search term (a word or a phrase) against manufacturer names, tradenames and product keyword terms. The product keyword match function searches against our extensive thesaurus of industry terms to find Construction Specifications Canada's MasterFormat™ divisions that potentially match your search terms.
Our search engine will check your terms against pages of detailed product information, including Buildcore formatted product profile information, 10-part datasheets, 3-part specifications, manufacturer catalogues and Buildcore CAD drawings.
Search terms can be a word or a phrase. The more specific your search term, the more likely you are to find matching content. For example, typing 'double-hung windows' will return CSC product categories that include double-hung windows as well as all documents on our site that include that phrase. All search returns are according to CSC's MasterFormat 2004 Edition numbering system. Our search feature does not currently support Boolean functions (AND/OR searches).
Search Engine
Our searches are divided into four main categories and the types of results:
Site, Company Name, MasterFormat and Tradename.
- Site tab: Search our keyword index by keyword is based on all including keyword index (searches all documents)
- MasterFormat tab: Search by MasterFormat division, 1995/2004 number or keyword.
- Company Name tab: Find complete company information. Easy to interpret icons quickly tell you which documents the company has made available on Buildcore.com.
- Trade Name tab: Find a company by searching for the trade names under which they market their products.

To get to the product information you need in just a few clicks, here are some tips to target your results.
Each document type - product profile, three-part spec, datasheet, catalogue or CAD drawing - has a colour-coded icon for quick reference.
